Highland Knoll development up for auction

Those of us living in the southeast area of Eagle Valley are neighbors to this subdivision-gone-bad. This is something to which we should pay attention.

St. Paul Winter Market

Did you know that the St. Paul Farmers’ Market is open all through the winter too? Saturdays from 9 am-1 pm you can find vendors outside in the market stalls and inside of the warm Golden’s Deli. Winter market vendors sell beef, lamb, pork, chicken, turkey, duck, goose, trout, (and probably something I haven’t seen yet) as well as eggs, cheeses, honey, salsa, sauces (I personally LOVE LOVE LOVE Lucky’s sauces; we’re working through a bottle of Cherry Bomb now…), pickled veggies, mushrooms, chocolates, and more. I even picked up tomatoes last week, grown under a greenhouse covering. If you started buying meats and eggs from Bar 5, who was at the Woodbury location of the St. Paul Farmers’ Market this summer, you can find them outside at the winter market all winter long. Same with Brook Park Fish Farm, the only fish (trout) my kids will eat. And, if you still are waiting to find that perfect Christmas tree, you can find those, too, along with beautiful holiday greenery.

494 Construction Update

From the City of Woodbury’s InTouch system:

A major traffic switch will be taking place July 5 as part of the ongoing I-494 project. The anticipated changes are outlined below:

The ramp from northbound I-494 to Lake Road, which was closed June 29, is scheduled to reopen the evening of July 2. All ramps at the interchange of I-94/I-494/I-694 are currently open, but the four ramps and loops on the east side of the interchange are scheduled to close Monday evening, July 5, for six days. Note that all ramps and loops at this interchange will remain open over the Fourth of July weekend.
Work on I-494 starting Tuesday morning, July 6, will mark the beginning of the last portion of major construction on I-494, and will be concentrated on northbound I-494 between Tamarack Road and I-94. This work is scheduled to be completed before the morning rush on Monday, July 12.

When this work is complete, all ramps at Lake Road, Valley Creek Road and Tamarack Road , and at least two lanes of traffic on I-494, will be open on I-494 the majority of the time.

For project details, visit the Minnesota Department of Transportation website.

Woodbury Fireworks

At a time when other communities are having to discontinue or suspend their displays of fireworks for the Independence Day holiday, the city of Woodbury is still holding this community-building event. If you’re in town, it’s a great community event!

From the City of Woodbury’s InTouch system:

Come to Ojibway Park on Sunday, July 4, and enjoy music, food and the traditional Fourth of July fireworks display.
