New board members

The special meeting was held and minutes are posted on the governing documents & forms page here. But the short of it is that Jeff Heinrich was (re) elected to the board to fill out the remaining 2 year term and Cynthia Hable was elected to fill out the remaining 1 year term.

Special Meeting on 2/27!

From board member, Chuck Eckberg:

A special association meeting will be held this coming Monday, February 27 at 7 PM at the Eagle Valley golf course clubhouse. Notification of this meeting was mailed to your home a couple of weeks ago. The sole purpose of this meeting is to elect two board members.

For those of you who attended the annual meeting in December, the need for new elections may have come as a surprise, since elections were already held, within a generally cooperative and harmonious atmosphere, at the annual meeting. I’ve attached the Meeting Letter, Agenda, Resume for 2_27_2012 Meeting and Proxy for 2_27_2012 Meeting that everyone received which explains why new elections will be held.

I’m sending this e-mail to ask you to do one of two things. First please consider attending the meeting Monday night, in in order to run as a candidate and to vote. The meeting will last, at the most, thirty minutes. If your attendance is not possible, please sign and return the attached proxy to me or to Durand and Associates, if you have not already done so. We must have a quorum in order to have an election so we can proceed with neighborhood business.

Jeff Heinrich, who was elected in December, plans to run again. Bill Thom, who was elected in December, has decided not to. Please consider running for a position on the board. I realize on the face of things it looks like a thankless job, and yes, sometimes it seems to be. But I strongly believe that as the year progresses you’ll experience having an Association board which serves all residents here.

Highland Knoll development up for auction

Those of us living in the southeast area of Eagle Valley are neighbors to this subdivision-gone-bad. This is something to which we should pay attention.

St. Paul Winter Market

Did you know that the St. Paul Farmers’ Market is open all through the winter too? Saturdays from 9 am-1 pm you can find vendors outside in the market stalls and inside of the warm Golden’s Deli. Winter market vendors sell beef, lamb, pork, chicken, turkey, duck, goose, trout, (and probably something I haven’t seen yet) as well as eggs, cheeses, honey, salsa, sauces (I personally LOVE LOVE LOVE Lucky’s sauces; we’re working through a bottle of Cherry Bomb now…), pickled veggies, mushrooms, chocolates, and more. I even picked up tomatoes last week, grown under a greenhouse covering. If you started buying meats and eggs from Bar 5, who was at the Woodbury location of the St. Paul Farmers’ Market this summer, you can find them outside at the winter market all winter long. Same with Brook Park Fish Farm, the only fish (trout) my kids will eat. And, if you still are waiting to find that perfect Christmas tree, you can find those, too, along with beautiful holiday greenery.

Proposed 2012 City Budget

At tomorrow night’s City Council Meeting, they will be approving the Proposed 2012 City Budget among other business. As Eagle Valley Golf Course is part of the city budget, it’s a good idea to stay aware of what the city plans are for the course as this is something that directly impacts home values. Please consider attending the meeting and adding your voice as a citizen and resident of Eagle Valley.
